Overview

From its location on the York River to its indoor and outdoor exhibits, the museum gives visitors insight into the impact that watermen have had on the history, economy and acology of this region for over 400 years. This museum at the York River waterfront tells the story of "Wooden Boats and Iron Men".  Exhibits include boat models, photos, tools and artifacts of the men who harvest the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The gift shop features a variety of nautical items including boat reproductions, solar wind chimes, Yorktown items and much more! Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday April through December. Admission: Required.
