We invite you to a show for folk artist, photographer, storyteller, fabric artist, poet, author and educator Mendel Williams. Born in London to Pentecostal preachers from Jamaica, her work is a fusion of African, Caribbean, British, Canadian, and American sensibilities. She learned the art of storytelling from both an ethnic and cultural perspective. She uses that story-telling skill and her art to connect to others and to help others connect to one another. "I care deeply about the human condition and how people live and how we can improve how we communicate and value one another," she says. "I consider the art of storytelling to be an important tool for increasing equality, compassion and diversity. "My artwork brings me joy and that is why I do it," she says. "I hope it brings a smile to others and that my storytelling projects increase our human connections."
