Coffee Concert I American String Quartet and Andre-Michel Schub
- General Admission: $$20
Individually, the players of the American String Quartet are each stars in their own right, their resumes studded with orchestral and ensemble performances, competition victories, and accolades; together, they create a sound that has entranced some of the world's most demanding critics. "They play together with a sense of ease that lets each piece of music unfold like a living organism," wrote the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Artistic Director of the Festival's Chamber Music Series, pianist André-Michel Schub has been described by The New York Times as "pianistically flawless." A student of the great Rudolf Serkin, he was the 1981 grand prize winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; he has performed with the world's most prestigious orchestras and is an artist member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
