Colonial Folk Art - Art Escape Weekend!
May 28, 10:00 - 4:00 and May 29, 1:00 – 4:00
The gallery presents, “The Mind of Aggie Robertson: A Retrospective (1911-2001).” Robertson began her painting career at age 48, and her painting style and sketches immediately caught the attention of critics as her work was compared to de Kooning and Pollock. Robertson surrounded herself with her own work in her home and studio, not parting with “her friends” while she was still alive. The artist’s entire collection is made available only to the Meibohm Fine Art Gallery in the artist’s home town and to Colonial Folk Art in the Williamsburg Arts District.
