On Thursday, Sept. 8th, guests can enjoy an evening of delicious barbecue, bluegrass music, and beautiful views of the James River at the fifth annual “ShinDIG” to benefit the Jamestown Rediscovery Project at Historic Jamestowne. A barbecue dinner will be provided by Carrot Tree Kitchens, while the “Who Ever Shows Up” band, featuring Jamestown Rediscovery Director of Archaeology Bill Kelso on banjo, performs at the Dale House Café. Rounding out the band are Doug Burgoyne on guitar, Bobby Hornsby and Ellen Kelso on bass, Jack Cowardin on fiddle, Rennie Howard on banjo, and Rob Foos on dobro. Gates open at 5:45 p.m. and the concert begins at 6:30 p.m. rain or shine. Seating will be provided and coolers will not be permitted, but beer and wine will be available for purchase. Tickets, which are $38 per person and include dinner, must be purchased in advance on our website, www.historicjamestowne.org.
