Let Freedom Ring
The historic First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia was secretly founded in 1776 by slaves. Its bell has been silent for generations...until now.
This Black History Month join Colonial Williamsburg and First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA for a February-long celebration featuring live performances and storytelling, an African American Quilts exhibition at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, events at The College of William & Mary, services at First Baptist Church, and daily ringing of the bell. Come ring the bell for the soul of the nation. Ring for all those who couldn't. Ring for change.
