Revolutionary War Lecture: “Digging Yorktown’s Past: An Archaeological View of 18th-Century Yorktown”

The Yorktown Victory Center Revolutionary War Lecture Series concludes with Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Historian Ed Ayres will provide an overview of several key archaeological excavations in Yorktown in the 1970s. Special attention will be given to work at the 1781 Grand French battery on the first allied siege line. This year's lecture series at the Yorktown Victory Center previews new permanent exhibition galleries debuting in mid-October in conjunction with the museum’s change in name to “American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.” Free public lectures are at 7 p.m. The lecture series concludes September 27.
