Silver Hand Meadery Celebrates Arrival of Latest Mead
Williamsburg’s recent addition to its growing craft alcoholic beverage industry will be celebrating the arrival of its latest mead varietal at Silver Hand Meadery, located at 224 Monticello Avenue, just west of the Monticello Shopping Center, during the weekend of June 3. Owned and operated by area residents Glenn and Sherri Lavender, Silver Hand Meadery produces Williamsburg’s first and only varieties of mead. The meadery had previously released its first four original meads, called “Virginia Moon”, “Dream By The Fire”, “All Blues” and “Scarborough Fair” - each name an homage to a song that inspired the each mead’s composition. According to Lavender, the new mead - called “Terres Brulees" is “a medium body mead, with a dry, smoky caramel finish.” The first 700+ bottle production runs of “Virginia Moon”, “Dream By The Fire” and “All Blues” quickly sold out. “Scarborough Fair" and a second run of "Dream by the Fire" are now available in limited supply.
