SILVER HAND MEADERY CELEBRATES ARRIVAL OF TWO NEW MEADS
Williamsburg's recent addition to its growing craft alcoholic beverage industry will be celebrating the arrival of its two latest mead varietals at Silver Hand Meadery, located at 224 Monticello Avenue, just west of the Monticello Shopping Center, during the weekend of April 8. Owned and operated by area residents Glenn and Sherri Lavender, Silver Hand Meadery produces Williamsburg's first and only varieties of mead - one of the most historic fermented drinks found on Earth. Mead is created by fermenting sugars found in honey, with additional herbs, spices, and fruits added to create unique flavors. The meadery had previously released its first two original meads, called "Virginia Moon" and "Dream By The Fire." This weekend, the Meadery will release "All Blues" (made with blueberries and blueberry honey) and "Scarborough Fair" (made with star thistle honey... and herbed with parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme).
