Located just minutes from downtown Williamsburg in the historic Freedom Park, Go Ape is a unique and highly interactive treetop adventure. Upon arriving at the Go Ape cabin, participants are equipped with harnesses, pulleys and carabiners and given training before being let loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees 40-50 above the ground! The course is made up of five individual sections, each section taking you higher into the forest canopy and finishing with a zip line more exciting than theprevious one! There are 38 crossings and obstacles which include, rope ladders, net bridges, trapezes, Tarzan swings and 5 zip lines (including a 600 foot tree-mendous finale!). The entire experience takes 2-3 hours to complete and caters to all skill levels. Instructors are always patrolling theforest, ready to provide assistance should you need it. Required supervision ratio includes; 1 participating adult for every 2 kids between 10-15 yrs old and 1 participating adult for every 5 kids 16-17 yrs old. Minimum height is 4ft 7in and maximum weight is 285 lbs. New for 2013 -- Go Ape has a new treetop adventure course, specifically designed for children age 5 and up. Featuring two ziplines, awesome obstacles, including a log balance, magic carpet, stepping stones, and Tibetan bridge, Treetop Junior offers participants an hour-long experience while 20 feet up in the trees."
