Williamsburg Bounce Itinerary
Experience the best of Williamsburg. Explore the footsteps of America's past and come back to a simpler way of life where people lived and died for freedom. The following day, bounce into fun and adventure at the action-packed 17th-century European-theme park at Busch Gardens.
Day 1
Begin your day at the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitors Center where your "pass" will be validated for three consecutive days. Stroll over to the Historic Area where history lives, breathes, walks and talks. The 173-acre Historic Area provides entertaining and inspiring encounters with "people of the past" such as Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and George Washington. Blacksmiths, wigmakers, milliners, carpenters, coopers and a dozen other trade shops show how work was done during the colonial era.
LUNCH: Sumptuous fares are offered in authentic colonial taverns in the Historic Area. In addition, the Merchants Square area offers gourmet dining or casual atmospheres in several delectable eateries. Whatever your appetite, there's a fare available.
AFTERNOON: Merchants Square is also a shopping experience like no other. Here you will find yourself in beautiful surroundings that mirror adjacent Colonial Williamsburg itself. In fact, you will find it hard to determine where the Square begins and the historical leaves off. Brick-paved plazas and sidewalks, gardens and canopies of trees intermingled throughout the area.
Save time in the afternoon to visit the Governor's Palace which has been reconstructed to depict it as one of the most elegant buildings in the Western Hemisphere of the 18th-century. Fifty major buildings and hundreds of smaller structures have been rebuilt on original sites.
DINNER: A large variety of restaurants are within easy access to any hotel or b&b. Whatever suits your palate can certainly be found at one of the more than 60 restaurants throughout the area.
Day 2
Begin your day at Busch Gardens. From castle to coasters, Busch Gardens-Williamsburg takes the authenticity of Europe and turns it 180 degrees, upside down and right side up again. It's six countries filled with awesome thrill rides, incredibile shows, mouth-watering foods and amazing shopping for an unexpected combination you never imagined!
LUNCH: In Das Festhaus, food is a festival in and of itself. Enjoy everything it has to offer, including sausage, hot potato salad and Black Forest cake. Indulge in beaucoup barbecue at Trappers Smokehouse in France or be tempted with freshly made pasta and chicken parmigiana in Italy. Whatever your taste, it can be found in one of the spectacular European countries.
AFTERNOON: Are you ready for the "Griffon" - The Ride? New in 2007. Busch Gardens newest and most exciting rollercoaster ever. Griffon is the both the tallest and the first floorless dive coaster. It soars to a height of 205 feet and then plunges you straight down at a 90 degree angle!
Whatever your interests may be, Busch Gardens Williamsburg features sensational shows, more than 40 thrilling rides, authentic foods, quaint shops and a magical children's adventure area. From adventure and enchantment to food and folklore, you will be captivated by the sights, sounds and magical charm.
Day 3
This is the "Bounce" day. It's your choice. You can continue to stroll throughout Colonial Williamsburg or bounce all over Busch Gardens again or splash at Water Country U.S.A. Voted one of America's best Water Parks by the Travel Channel and the Mid-Atlantic's largest Water Park, the entire family can enjoy splashing over 35 super-soakin' water rides and slides.
