Freedom to Have Fun: Visit Williamsburg will introduce the Summer of Freedom Music Festival July 31 to August 2 at Lake Matoaka amphitheater featuring the Williamsburg Symphonia, family movie nights, and an instrument "petting zoo" where kids can touch and play instruments.
Openings & Anniversaries: Celebrate Busch Gardens‘ 40th anniversary with the new thrill ride Tempesto™, launching at over 60 mph; new show “Roll Out The Barrel;” and extended fireworks displays. Yorktown Victory Center is building a new 80,000-sq.-ft. museum that will feature a 170-seat theater dramatizing the final military campaign of the American Revolution, set to open in late 2016. Visit Colonial Williamsburg’s DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum is celebrating 30 years as the only U.S. institution showcasing a full range of early American fine and decorative arts alongside British art, antiques and 18th-century fashion exhibitions.
