Suggestions for your Wedding
We want you to be relaxed & enjoy every moment of your big day. Below are some activities to help make it relaxing and fun.
The first night your guests arrive is a perfect time to introduce everyone and set the tone for the rest of their stay. The opening reception does not have to be elaborate, start with wine & cheese or have a pizza party out by the pool. Jamestown Beach has grills and picnic tables, so set up the volley-ball net or corn hole and let the party begin! Many of the hotels and vacation rentals have space that can host your opening reception as well as cater light refreshments for you and your party, leaving you a chance to relax and get ready for your big event.
Consider a Tour
Whether by boat, bus or Segway give your guests an opportunity to explore Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Take a boat tour either via the Jamestown Discovery which explores the James River and Jamestown Island or the Schooner Alliance which leaves the pier on the York River, and tours the coastline of the York River, complete with cannon fire! Historic tour can be arranged to visit Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown or Yorktown or perhaps a day at Busch Gardens or Water Country.
Williamsburg is known for its art galleries, and art studios. Several offer classes in glass etching, bead-making to painting a piece of pottery or making your own masterpiece to take home. The Williamsburg Winery offers tasting and tours and The DoG Street Pub also offers craft beer tastings. Most of the parks in the region have kayaking, canoeing, hiking and biking. Or how about a Segway tour of the Yorktown area. For the die-hard adventurers in your group Go-Ape is the premier for zip line, in excitement!
A sunset Cruise
A cold drink in-hand, soft breezes and a setting sun as your backdrop is a wonderful way to end your group day. The Schooner Alliance Yorktown has sunset and sunrise cruises. It's also a memory-making setting for a group photo to send to your guest after the celebration ends along with your thank you note for being a part of your big day.
A Spa or Golf Day
It may be you want to do something special for you and your bridesmaids and your future groom and his groomsman. Setup a spa day for you or have a golf day at one of 5 award winning golf courses in Williamsburg.
