The Mariners' Museum
World of the Seafarer
The Mariners' Museum is one of the largest and most comprehensive maritime history museums in the world and houses a treasure trove of more than 35,000 items inspired by human experiences. Located in Newport News, just a quick 20 minute drive from Williamsburg. The museum is situated in a scenic park surrounded by picturesque Lake Maury, with picnic areas and the 5-mile Noland Trail. The Museum Shop offers nautical gifts, books and memorabilia.
Explore the Mariners' Museum's internationally renowned collection of maritime artifacts, a treasure-trove of figureheads, hand-crafted ship models, over 150 small crafts from around the world and hundreds of artifacts recovered from the sunken Civil War ironclad USS Monitor on exhibit.
Hours: Wednesday – Saturday: 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., Sunday: Noon to 5 P.M., Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The Museum will be open on Mondays that coincide with federal holidays.
Admission: Adults, Youth Ages 13 to 17: $12.00, AAA/Seniors/Military/Students: $11.00, Children Ages 6 to 12: $7.00, Ages 5 and Under: Free
