Jamestown Glasshouse
In 1608, glassmaking, America’s first English industry, began in Jamestown, Virginia. Today, costumed craftsmen, using tools and techniques similar to those used centuries ago, blow one-of-a-kind period reproductions and contemporary pieces. Only green glass is blown at the Glasshouse, but other colors are blown at an off-site location. A four-year apprentice program trains glass blowers.
