Williamsburg Botanical Garden
The Williamsburg Botanical Garden is located within Freedom Park and visitors will pass along one side of the 2-acre ellipse on the way to the parking area. The WBG is not a typical botanical garden. The majority of plantings are species that are native to the Virginia Coastal Plain and are therefore a key component to supporting wildlife and pollinators.
There are examples of 18 different habitats, including a Pollinator Meadow and Monarch Way Station #3394, Native Grasses, Wetlands, Pine Woodlands, and a Rock & Succulents Garden, to name only a few. Many plants are labeled with both scientific and common names for easy identification.
Amenities include two green-roof pavilions with picnic tables for a shady rest and benches along some of the pathways. The Garden is available for small weddings and private parties. More info at www.wbgweddings.org.
