Join us in commemorating the 400th Anniversary of the First Official Thanksgiving in North America!

Keep the holiday spirit going and join the 2019 Commemoration, American Evolution as we commemorate the 400th anniversary of the first official English Thanksgiving in North America. The event is free and open to the public, and everyone is invited to help those in need this holiday season by bringing non-perishable food items to donate to the "Share the Spirit of Thanksgiving" food drive. American Evolution is partnering with the Peninsula Foodbank for this one-day, onsite food drive to benefit local area food banks.

Come to Jamestown Settlement and contribute to the special, commemorative food drive and stay to hear uplifting addresses about the Spirit of Thanksgiving and music by the Jamestown High School choir. Confirmed speakers include Stephen Adkins, Chief of the Chickahominy Tribe; Dr. Rex Ellis, Associate Director Emeritus at the National Museum of African American History and Culture; and Graham Woodlief, Descendent of Captain John Woodlief.

The free 400th Anniversary First Official English Thanksgiving Commemorative Event will take place at Jamestown Settlement on December 4 starting at 2 p.m. For more information visit AmericanEvolution2019.com or click on the event link above.
