Fort Pocahontas was the site of the May 24, 1864 Action in which United States Colored Troops defended the fort against an assault by Fitzhugh Lee's Confederate Cavalry. Open to the public 10 am - 4 pm Saturday and 10 am - 3 pm Sunday: $10/adults, $8/students (Cash or check only); battle reenactments both days. See Civil War camps and enjoy history brought to life.
