Chocolate Wings Flies Into Williamsburg BESSIE COLEMAN, the first African American Aviator, is the heroine of the mini-musical, Chocolate Wings, to be proudly presented by the Williamsburg Music Club on Wednesday, February 20th at 11 a.m. in Bruton Parish Hall, 331 Duke of Gloucester Street in Williamsburg. Chocolate Wings is a dramatic musical by Vicki Robbins, a Richmond-based performer, composer, playwright and teacher with degrees in composition and vocal performance from Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and an MA in theatre from Regent University in Virginia Beach. She will be playing the part of Bessie Coleman. Nancy Lanier is the accompanist and music director. Ms Lanier had a B.S. degree from William & Mary , where she sang and studied piano. She has played for Backstage Productions, The Williamsburg Players and more. Jim Rice will play the part of Rene Caudron, Bessies flight instructor in France.
