Join The Mariners' Museum and Park during the month of February as we celebrate Black History Month through programs, living history, lectures, and hands-on activities for children and adults.

Our special series starts off with poet, author, spoken word performer Nathan M. Richardson capturing the physical and spiritual essence of the great writer, orator, and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. During the month, you can bring your child(ren) to Maritime Mondays in the morning as they learn how maritime connects each of us through story time and a craft.

As the series wraps up, you and your family can enjoy our Hands on History program to feel or closely examine objects related to African and African American culture and history. All programs are free with $1 Museum admission.
