Why do birds use birdhouses? They are looking for cavities to build their nests! Birds that prefer cavities often thrive in a gourd birdhouse. Purple Martins are a prime example of this.

Create your own unique birdhouse gourd! Join Wisteria Perry, Manager of Interpretation and Community Outreach, and learn how to transform a precut and craft-ready gourd into a birdhouse. Decorating materials will include wood burning, alcohol inks, oil pastel coloring pencils, watercolor pencils, markers, acrylic paints and more.
