In the first of four public lectures highlighting themes in the new American Revolution Museum at Yorktown exhibition galleries opening mid-October, Historian Ed Ayres will discuss how in 1781 General Lafayette's troops continued to counter a large British force that had invaded Virginia. The free public lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Yorktown Victory Center theater.

Additional lectures will be held on September 13, 20 and 27.
