Hermine Pinson, the Frances L. and Edwin L. Cummings Professor of English and Africana Studies at William & Mary, will deliver the fall Tack Faculty Lecture, “To Make a Poet Black: Navigating a Blues Sensibility,” on October 28 at 7 p.m. at the Sadler Center’s Commonwealth Auditorium. Pinson, who has published three poetry collections, will explore some of her favorite works of art and some of her own as she explains the evolution of her poetics and its grounding in the African-American tradition.
