The 238th anniversary of America's momentous 1781 Revolutionary War victory at Yorktown will be celebrated during the weekend with hands-on military experiences, artillery firings and interpretive programs.

Discover the story of the American Revolution through an introductory film and expansive gallery exhibits with immersive settings, including "The Siege of Yorktown" experiential theater with special effects. Outdoors, interact with historical interpreters in a re-created Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm. 

Visitors also can take in "Forgotten Soldier," a special exhibition on display June 29, 2019, through March 22, 2020,to learn about enslaved and free African Americans who fought on both sides of the Revolutionar War through interactive elements and compelling art displays. 

Commemorative events will take place on October 19 at Yorktown Battlefield and in Historic Yorktown.
