Visitors will learn how Newport News supported war efforts with the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company by viewing first-hand journals, letters, photographs and more. Viewers will also learn how the large influx of shipyard workers was accommodated through construction of Hilton Village. Admission to the Museum is now only $1 for all time!

We will kick off the New Year with a trek to a distant, hidden gem in the park. The Pamunkey Overlook is at the bottom of a steep bluff along the York River. The observation platform gives guests a commanding view over the cord grass and across the river to Wererocommico, where Chief Powhatan once ruled Tidewater Virginia.
