Ghost Tours

Yorktown Ghost Walks are led by paranormal investigators who share the history and ghost stories associated with each haunted location. The tours run Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets: $10 per person, handicap accessible and reservations are required
The Original Ghost Tour is the second oldest ghost tour in the United States, and guides guests through the streets of Colonial Williamsburg by candlelight. Tours run Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets: $17 per person. Children six and under are free, and discounted tickets are available for military and public safety workers
The Thin Veil Tour of Yorktown explores historical accounts of ghosts and other worldly experiences that have occurred through the centuries in Yorktown. This experience begins at Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters on October 26 at 6 p.m. Tickets: $10 per person. Children under 12 are not allowed
Haunted Williamsburg is the official ghost tour experience of Colonial Williamsburg. This one-hour candlelit walking ghost tour takes guests beyond the barriers to the most haunted sites. The tour happens daily at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult and the tour is suitable for ages eight and older. Tickets: $19 for adults; $12 for children 12 and under
Ghost Walk Jr. brings a new, less-fright-more-fun interactive storytelling experience, appropriate for children four and up. The 45-minute ghost tour shares traditional spooky stories with a Colonial Williamsburg flavor. The tours are offered Thursday through Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Tickets: $8 for all ages. All children must be accompanied by an adult

 

Additional Attractions and Experiences

Busch Gardens is offering two Halloween-themed events. Details include: 

HOWL-O-SCREAM is the park’s signature adult-focused Halloween event. Open all month long, guests can take their fears to new heights with seven world-class coasters, three haunted houses, two terror-tories, and two engaging shows. Parental discretion is advised after 6 p.m. 

The Count’s Spooktacular offers family-fun activities every Saturday and Sunday through October 31. Children can join in a costume party, satisfy their sweet tooth with free trick or treating and participate in other family-friendly Halloween activities during this special daytime event.

Jamestown Settlement is hosting Family Frights on Friday, October 22, and Saturday, October 23, with two sessions each evening at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. As the sun goes down, the outdoor areas transform into sci-fi and fantastical themed areas offering a night of trick-or-treating, creepy crafts, decorated houses, and spooky ships. Due to COVID-19, there is reduced capacity, online-only ticketing, and masks are required. Tickets: $10 per child (4 to 12); $5 per adult; free for children three and under. 

To celebrate turning four years old, Billsburg Brewery is hosting Billsburg After Dark,” two nights of spooky fun for adults during Halloween weekend. On Saturday, the brewery will present an interactive viewing experience of Rocky Horror Picture Show hosted by Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Halloween night, guests can enjoy “HallowQueen,” a drag show. Both events are 21+. 

Yorktown Market Days’ annual Paws at the River is the perfect time to bring awareness to local animal rescue organizations, help place adoptable pets in their forever homes, and celebrate spooky season. On October 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests are invited to shop small at RiverwalkLanding businesses, march in the Halloween Pet Costume Parade, and partake in the popular town-wide trick-or-treating event at participating businesses.
