Newport House Bed and Breakfast
Newport House, Williamsburg's most historically authentic B&B, was designed in 1756, and is furnished completely in the period. Each room sleeps up to 3 guests in 4-poster canopy beds. Full breakfasts include colonial recipes, accompanied by historical discussions with your host. On Tuesdays 8-10pm we host English Country Dancing (Colonial) in our Ballroom, and on Thursdays Scottish Country Dancing 7-9pm, beginners & spectators welcome (parking on Mimosa Dr.). Air-conditioned; off-street parking; only 500 metres' walk from Historic Area. Your host is former museum director, author of many historical books, and builder/captain of Tall Ships (frigate Rose/Surprise and sloop Providence); hostess is nurse, gardener, beekeeper and birder.
At Newport House Bed and Breakfast, you get closer to feeling the real, historic Williamsburg than at any other accommodations in the area. Your hosts even have period clothing (adults only) for you to rent, if you're feeling adventurous.
