Feature Opportunity through Peak Group Travel

Peak Group Travel, a group and student travel company, is promoting “Resilience Tours” for the 2021 season. As a part of this program, Peak Group Travel will post about a new destination 1-2 times per week on its Facebook page, e-newsletter, and website. They plan to highlight both the destination as a whole and individual businesses in the destination. To participate, please submit the following:

  1. An image, preferably a landscape 
  2. A short description, approximately 50 words

USA Triathlon

Major League Quidditch (MLQ)

Major League Quidditch (MLQ) brings two opportunities to Visit Williamsburg. Quidditch is an inclusive mixed-gender, full-contact sport based upon the fictional sport described in the Harry Potter novels. The sport contains elements of rugby, basketball, and dodgeball. The MLQ league runs from June 1 to August 30. 

The MLQ SuperSeries is a two-day competition with three divisional teams, consisting of a 21 player roster, competing in two series.  Greater Williamsburg has the opportunity to bid as a host site in 2021 and 2022. Click on the year to view the Request for Proposals.

2021 Urban Superintendents Summer Academy

The Urban Superintendents Association of America (USAA) is holding its 2021 Summer Academy in Williamsburg July 13-17, 2021, with an anticipated attendance of 150 people from across the country.

Luncheon Locations

Multiple dining venues are required daily for corporate-sponsored luncheons. USAA would like to receive bids from establishments that can hold 10 to 50 patrons. The annual sponsor meeting will be held in mid-October to narrow down the selection.

Closing Reception and Dinner Location

A location is requested to hold the closing reception and dinner for 150 attendees on July 17, 2021. The reception will run from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. with the closing dinner ending at 9:30 p.m. The dinner must include set up for a speaker, including a projector and AV equipment.

Transportation

Roundtrip transportation from the host hotel to the closing dinner location is required on July 17, 2021. Transportation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with return service at 9:30 p.m.

Firecracker Sports

Firecracker Sports holds successful baseball and softball tournaments throughout the Northeast and seeks to expand into the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast for future events. National Association of Tax Professionals, Virginia Chapter

The Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) is interested in holding a half-day meeting on Friday, November 6, 2020. The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. with an anticipated attendance of 20-25, mostly from the Williamsburg and surrounding Tidewater area. The meeting space must have WiFi access as well as a screen and projector. There are no food and beverage requirements. They have requested the space for one hour the month before the meeting to conduct a run-through with key presenters. Mid-Atlantic Receptive Services Lead

Mid-Atlantic Receptive Services (MARS) operates more than 400 tours annually for both domestic and international travelers, bringing 10-15 tours to our destination each year. The tour operator is offering "Recovery Super Saver" packages for the remainder of 2020, and seeks properties that will offer deep discounts, one comp per bus, deposit due thirty days out, and cancellations allowable until arrival day. MARS is also interested in value add opportunities from area attractions and venues. These 3 day/2 night tours are designed specifically for smaller groups, with a minimum of 25 people.
