Freedom to Have Fun: Grammy®-winning singer-songwriter Bruce Hornsby and Virginia Arts Festival are bringing back Funhouse Fest, the 2-day music festival that gathers award-winning artists for two days of music-making. Funhouse Fest returns to the lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, June 22 - 23, 2018.

Openings: Opening this spring at  Busch Gardens ® Williamsburg, Battle For Eire. This revolutionary virtual reality action ride features a fierce fairy warrior leading guests on unforgettable experience through Ireland.  The attraction blends a motion-based simulator with state-of-the-art 360-degree VR headsets. 

Opening November 10 at Jamestown Settlement, appreciate historical women in a special exhibit, “Tenacity: Women in Jamestown and Early Virginia,” . Learn the personal stories of the women in Jamestown and the Virginia colony and their impact on a struggling society.  Theatrical and musical performances and public lectures will accompany the exhibition. 

Freedom to have Fun: Cool off at Water Country USA, Virginia’s largest outdoor water park, featuring more than 40 water slides, including newest family thrill ride, Colossal Curl™. Relive sailing’s golden age aboard Yorktown Sailing Charters’ Schooner Alliance and Serenity, offering historic and sunset cruises past dolphins and osprey. Rent kayaks or paddleboards with Patriot Tours & Provisions and paddle by the picturesque shoreline beaches along the beautiful York River.

Freedom to be Curious: Sample authentic Virginia-grown and -made produce at Williamsburg Farmer’s Market. Taste international flavors at Busch Gardens’ Food & Wine Festival (select dates in May - June). Join Yorktown’s annual Blues, Brews & BBQ to listen to the best local blues musicians and sample craft beers and enjoy the Juried Art Show (May 5). 

Freedom to Relax: Sample a signature experience at Kingsmill Resort’s brand-new Spa at Kingsmill, offering more than 50 pampering services.
