Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra – Beethoven’s Ninth – April 12, 2018

As slovenly as Beethoven was in his personal life, he stored and maintained his musical ideas in sketchbooks, continually jotting down ideas that might come in handy later on. Perusing these sketchbooks today, we gain insight into both his creative process and method of working. While Beethoven did not have the quick and ready inspiration of a Schubert or a Mendelssohn, two characteristics contributed to his greatness: he had the tenacity to work and rework his material many times, often over many years; and he knew when he got it right.

Friday Brewmaster’s Pin at Virginia Beer – April 13, 20, 27, and May 2, 2018

Every Friday at 4 pm at The Virginia Beer Company, we tap a small but potent Brewmaster's Pin. Centrally located on the bar top in our taproom, these weekly cask concoctions give our brewing team the chance to add a personal touch to our draft offerings. Only available on Friday afternoons starting at 4 pm!

Williamsburg Opera Carmen Dinner Concert and Silent Auction – April 15, 2018

Opera in Williamsburg is holding a Dinner Concert and Live Auction Fundraiser with the Singers of Opera in Williamsburg's Carmen on April 15, 2018 at 5:30-9:00 PM at the Colonial Heritage Clubhouse, 6500 Arthur Hills Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188.  Come, make your bid, and enjoy while supporting the musicians.  A seated dinner with a choice of entrée.  Cash bar available.  Dinner and concert $52 (doors open at 5:30 PM), concert only $25 (seating at 7:15 PM).  

Yorktown Market Days  – April 14, 21 and 28, 2018

The Saturday markets begin early this year, bringing you the fresh meats and seafood; seasonal produce; herbs and flowers; gourmet dog treats; and everything else you've grown to love about the market. 

Williamsburg Farmer’s Market  – April 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2018

The Williamsburg Farmers Market features 40 vendors focused on produce, prepared food and farm related products grown or made in Virginia and has been serving between 1,000 and 1,500 people on any given Saturday.  The market’s live music and great location at Merchant’s Square in Colonial Williamsburg make it both a local favorite and an attraction for visitors from across the country and around the world.

Vinyl Night at Alewerks  – April 17 & 24, 2018

Join us each and every Tuesday night for Vinyl Night in the Taproom. Bring your own records, or listen to ours, either way it's sweet vinyl spinning on the turntable. FoodaTude and Food with Attitude will be here too! Retro tunes, good food, and craft beer. What's not to love?

Trivia Night at Alewerks – April 18 & 25, and May 2, 2018

Wednesday night means the Taproom is the place to be for this battle of the brains. Bring your friends (or your enemies) and prove just how smart you really are. It's an entertaining evening with great craft beer, and a thoroughly irreverent take on trivia. We'll have food trucks here too with an ever-changing menu of delicious options.

Yorktown’s Sister Cities French Market  – April 21, 2018

Experience all things French with your favorite products for the seventh annual authentic French Market. Celebrate the spirit of the Saturday market in Port-Vendres France, Yorktown's sister city since 1990. Traditional market products such as fresh-baked bread, pastries, chocolates, macaroons and crepes, wine, along with French music and fresh food items for purchase. This event is part of the Williamsburg Taste Festival Weekend, with culinary events taking place in Yorktown and Williamsburg.   Free. 

“Alison Stinely’s Gilded Splinters” Exhibition at Linda Matney Gallery - April 21 - June 23, 2018

Alison Stinely utilizes various types of sculpting in collaboration with oil painting in order to create impactful pieces that are independent of a traditional frame.    For more information, visit the website. 

Garden Club of Virginia 85th Historic Garden Week – April 21-28, Williamsburg Day is April 25, 2018

Homes on this nine-property tour span in age from the beginning of the 18th century to a 21st century Colonial Revival.  All are conveniently concentrated in two neighborhoods located near each other.  Visitors will appreciate interiors that sparkle with floral designs by the Williamsburg Garden Club complementing spectacular antiques and artwork.  Not to be outdone, the gardens of featured properties are prime examples of 18th century to current landscaping styles and include a city farm garden, shade gardens, a school garden, as well as formal and cottage gardens that represent the Williamsburg style.  Start at the William and Mary Alumni house, which serves as tour headquarters, and walk or use the shuttle, which is included in the ticket.  Enjoy lunch or light refreshments offered at the many establishments in Merchant's Square, Colonial Williamsburg and surrounding area while visiting Williamsburg for Historic Garden Week. 

Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels FoodAPalooza – April 27, 2018

The Annual Foodapalooza Festival of Taste brings together seven chefs from to serve delicious food while guests listen and dance. Savor a variety of small plates, wines, and cocktails, all while helping to support Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels. 

An Afternoon of Cultural Cuisine – American Revolution Museum at Yorktown – 2pm

Explore the multicultural heritage of southern cuisine through cooking and conversation with Michael W. Twitty, African American-Jewish culinary historian and author. Program begins at 2 p.m. in the re-created Revolution-era farm.

Yorktown’s Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ – May 5, 2018

Join us for Yorktown's fifth annual Blues, Brews & BBQ, a festival on the river. Enjoy down-home blues, incredible micro-brews, and amazing BBQ for purchase. Riverwalk Landing. $30 in advance and $35 at the door. 

Bluegrass, Beer and Barbeque in the 'Burg Celebrates The Chamber’s 80th Birthday! - Sunday, May 6, 1-5pm

The Muscarelle Museum of Art invites you to the annual Bluegrass, Beer and Barbeque in the 'Burg--and this year we are celebrating the 80th birthday of our partner, The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance! This family-fun event features traditional southern BBQ from 5 states along with beer, live music, activities for the kids and birthday cake!

Busch Garden’s Food & Wine Festival – Friday, Saturday and Sundays – May 25 – July 1, 2018

A tasty adventure awaits culinary explorers at the Busch Gardens ® Food & Wine Festival in Williamsburg, Virginia.
