Victoria Cimino, Chief Executive Officer & FOIA Officer

Victoria Cimino is Chief Executive Officer of the Williamsburg Tourism Council, providing expertise, leadership, and vision in all marketing efforts, as well as overall management of the destination marketing organization. 

Cimino has spent the majority of her professional career providing communication solutions, counsel, and creative direction to both government agencies and private sector organizations.

Most recently, she served as Director of the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism; under Cimino’s leadership, the Division experienced an increased ROI on brand advertising from 10:1 to 14:1; direct visitor spending increased by four percent, and Rooms and Meals tax revenue increased by 15 percent (FY2015-18).

Cimino has served as the Director of International Marketing for the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and her background includes work with New York City-based Redpoint Marketing PR, Inc., and Boston-based Connelly Partners.


David Turner, Finance Director

With a proven record of providing financial leadership, Turner has more than 30 years of experience working as a trusted business partner and providing guidance and project management of business optimization strategies and information system implementations. He has excelled at managing cross-functional teams in order to improve processes and implement strategies. During his time at Integra LifeSciences, Turner developed a systematic approach and database to collect and report sales and quantity data, established the corporate product reporting standards, created a portfolio optimization report process, and led the development of a statistical projection model used to project global sales.


Julie O'Neil, Marketing Director

With more than 20 years of tourism marketing experience in Greater Williamsburg, O’Neil brings her Marketing expertise to the Williamsburg Tourism Council.   Having spent the past 20 years in various Sales and Marketing leadership roles with Busch Gardens & Water Country USA, O’Neil brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.  She had led the creation and execution of multiple strategic marketing plans, worked through several website redevelopment projects, and led destination marketing partnerships, initiatives, and strategies.  She has played an active leadership role over the years on several Visit Williamsburg marketing committees.


Julia Smyth-Young, Sales Director

A highly accomplished Senior Sales Leader, Smyth-Young has more than 25 years of experience with profit and loss responsibility in Domestic and International settings within Destination Marketing, Convention Sales, and Hotel Sales. Whether she was at the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau or contracting with The First Group in Dubai, she has consistently exceeded her sales goals throughout her career. Smyth-Young has created, simplified, and standardized sales procedures and processes for multiple organizations globally. Smyth-Young has a proven ability to build and lead highly motivated teams that have contributed to significant increases in revenue, reductions in cost, and overall business growth.


Miranda Jarrell, Communications Director & FOIA Officer

A strategic and well-rounded communications professional, Jarrell has 15+ years of public relations experience and a passion for storytelling. Most recently, she served as Public Relations Manager for Southworth Development. Previously, Jarrell worked with hotel and restaurant brands as Media Relations Director at CM Communications in Boston and held public relations management positions with creative agencies, including marlo marketing in Boston, Luckie & Co. in Birmingham, Ala., and Fetching Communications in Tampa, Fla. 


Jill Pongonis, FAM Tour Coordinator & FOIA Officer

After many years in the Williamsburg area tourism field, Pongonis is thrilled to have found her niche and passion with media relations, marketing, public relations, and communications as it pertains to the Williamsburg destination. Jill’s primary responsibilities include contributing to various marketing campaigns, public relations efforts, including frequent interaction with travel journalists, planning and executing familiarization tours, and engage with local tourism partners to garner maximum exposure.
