Live Music for All

Greater Williamsburg is home to many different musical events. Sit in on a serenade from the symphony, or take the kids to sing along with "Sesame Street" characters at Busch Gardens. In between find time to sit and enjoy the music festivities that dot the summer during the year. Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg offer music for aficionados of all genres.

Over 40 vendors will bring meats, produce, mushrooms, flowers, artisan chocolate, cheese, honey, baked goods, peanuts and handmade soaps to the Williamsburg Farmers Market. Live music will be performed by So’lach from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Berret’s Seafood is at the Chefs Tent. Check website for available products and produce.

An adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest" will be performed aboard Jamestown Settlement's re-creations of the Susan Constant and in the colonial fort on six evenings – September 14, 15 and 16, and September 21, 22 and 23.

The historical outdoor drama, presented by The Guild of the Virginia Shakespeare Festival and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, is sponsored by the 2019 Commemoration, AMERICAN EVOLUTION.

Always the class clown (and spending most of his formative years in the principal's office), Rob Brackenridge was destined to become a comedian. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Rob has been based out of Los Angeles since 1992 and spends most of the year on the road, "bringing the funny" to audiences around the world. He tours regularly for the U.S. troops on the Miller Lite \"Lite Laffs\" program, and has performed in 10 different countries and most of the 50 states.

Historian Carson Hudson discusses how colonial Virginians shared a common belief in the supernatural and the existence of witches with their northern neighbors. Throughout the 17th and early 18th centuries, they conducted several witchcraft inquiries. Copies of his book "These Detestable Slaves of the Devill" will be available in the Museum Store with a book signing to follow the lecture. (1 hour)
