Every coffee house looks for something that makes them unique – a specialty drink, quirky décor, latte art. How about a coffee shop that sits in the middle of a national park, and serves both freshly roasted coffee and extensive history tours? You can get just that at Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters. Located in the Historic Cole Digges House in Yorktown’s Colonial National Park, Mojack Bay offers a delightful menu of smooth, flavorful coffee, sandwiches, and sweets, as well as a calendar full of tours exploring the complex history of Yorktown.

Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters began offering history tours in July 2020 and are the only business certified and permitted to offer tours in the park. Owner Celeste Gucanac says she is quite proud of this fact as it entailed a year’s worth of work with the National Park Service to vet their historical interpreters and the information that is being presented. “We take great pride in the quality of what we offer,” says Gucanac. “This is why we have our own professional historian and American history educator on staff. There is nothing like taking a tour with an expert at your side.”
