Dear Quilt Contributor,
Because of YOU, the Great American Birthday Quilt has become something truly extraordinary and now it’s time to see it all come together!
We are thrilled to invite you to the Great American Birthday Quilt Reveal on April 11th at 12 pm in Merchant Square (134 N Henry Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185).
From the very first submission to the very last, it has been an absolute joy to open each and every package. We received packages from coast to coast, and with every package and carefully wrapped quilt, we were amazed all over again by the creativity, the heartfelt stories, and the great American pride.
This quilt beautifully reflects the diversity of our nation. Contributors of every age, background, and ethnicity shared not only their talents, but their personal stories of what America means to them. We’ve seen quilts created by children alongside their grandparents, women and men sharing their gifts, school groups collaborating with excitement, quilting guilds contributing their collective artistry, and so many individuals pouring their hearts into fabric and thread.
Together, they form something far greater than a quilt, they form a celebration of unity, heritage, creativity, and the American spirit.
Now it’s time to celebrate YOU and the beautiful masterpiece you helped create!
With gratitude and excitement,
Visit Williamsburg
