In addition to pumpkins, there is a large selection of pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, flowers, wooden cut-outs, arts and crafts and fall decorations.

Lew Thatcher paints in the realist genre. His art is detailed, focused and believable. Over 40 years of sailing and exploring the waters, marshes and harbors of Chesapeake Bay have provided him with a vast wealth of maritime subjects. A solo exhibition of Lew’s extraordinary works will be on display in the Gallery Oct. 7-31. Please join us for a reception to celebrate the opening of the show 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Meet Lew and enjoy libations and hors d’oeuvres.

East Meets Midwest II: A New Figuration is a show organized from eastern painters referred to as the East Coast Group and painters from the collective called the Midwest Paint Group. In 2010, after showing in Chicago, St. Louis and New York City, the show culminated at the College of William & Mary. Fortunately we have the opportunity, again, to experience their work in The Andrews Gallery, located in our Art & Art History Department.

On Sundays, join cycling enthusiasts from The Williamsburg Winery team on a group ride through the Historic Triangle and back to the Winery for wine and brunch specials at the Gabriel Archer Tavern. Ride registration begins each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 9 a.m. There is no fee to participate.

All Cycling Club participants will receive a 15% discount at the Gabriel Archer Tavern following the completion of the ride.  The discount is only valid the day of the ride.

Created with over a half million LEGO pieces, this show features larger-than-life sculptures built with LEGO bricks by Brooklyn artist and children's author Sean Kenney. The sculptures bring nature to life with a 6-foot hummingbird hovering over a trumpet flower, a deer family made from 84,000 bricks, a giant tortoise, a 7-foot long dragonfly and more.

Historian, Clayton Farrington will present The War Just Off Shore.  Discover the little-known story of the successful Navy-Coast Guard effort to eradicate the German U-Boat threat off the coast of Hampton Roads in 1942, and how that effort begat unintended but deadly consequences for those working at Naval Air Station Norfolk and Yorktown Naval Weapons Station.

The Marquis de Lafayette was one of the heroes of the American Revolution and was with Washington here in Yorktown at the surrender of Cornwallis, October 19, 1781!  After the Yorktown campaign, he returned to France, became embroiled in the French Revolution, was imprisoned for more than five years, was released, and was then entertained in the United States like a rock star, at the invitation of President James Monroe, on his visit Aug. 15, 1824 - Sept. 7, 1825.
